THE DREAMING GROUNDS
EVERY DREAM COMES WITH SACRAFICE...

THE PRICE OF THE DREAM
The dream begins on a baseball field. But for the families chasing the next level, it reaches far beyond the game. Weekends disappear. Miles pile up. Thousands of dollars are spent. Childhood is measured in practices, tournaments, hotel rooms and long drives home. Behind every young athlete chasing something extraordinary is a family sacrificing alongside them — carrying the pressure, the expectations, the uncertainty, and the question no one can answer: How far will this dream take them?
INSIDE THE CHASE
Behind every tournament, every hotel stay, every late-night drive, and every inning played under pressure, there is a story most people never see. The Dreaming Grounds goes inside the relentless pursuit of the next level—following young athletes and the families who sacrifice alongside them. The money. The miles. The expectations. The victories and disappointments. Everyone is chasing the same dream. But what happens when the dream begins to demand more than anyone expected?

This series looks past the scoreboard to reveal life after the final out — the burdens young players carry, the heavy costs parents bear, the toll on the family unit, and the haunting inquiry that remains: at what point does pursuing this dream cost more than it’s worth?
The Creator

My connection to travel baseball began with a lifelong love for the game. Spending years alongside players and their families, I came to see how much the pursuit demands—the money, the time, and the sacrifices that often go unseen. The Dreaming Grounds grew out of those experiences and a question I couldn’t shake: What does chasing a baseball dream ask of a family?
Through the voices of athletes, parents, coaches, scouts, recruiters, tournament organizers, and sports psychologists, I’m exploring what happens when a family’s hopes meet the realities of chasing a dream. They bring different ideas about success, sacrifice, and what’s best for a child. Together, those perspectives reveal a deeper story: who gets a chance, who bears the cost, and how families decide whether to keep chasing.
The stakes reach far beyond who wins on the field or gets a chance at the next level. If you’ve ever chased a dream—or helped someone chase theirs—you know how hard it can be to tell the difference between giving up too soon and holding on too long. There are sacrifices you’d make again, decisions you wish you could take back, and moments that remind you why you started. The Dreaming Grounds takes us inside that uncertainty, as families weigh what they’ve given against what might still be possible—and ask themselves how they’ll know when it’s enough.
